As of the 17th of April, 67 more people have passed away which brings the total number of deaths in Sweden to 1 400.
Karin Tegmark Wisell, chief psysician and head of department at Folkhälsomyndigheten, says that Sweden still have a large number of deaths per day but that they do not see the high numbers as a continuing trend. They rather believe the opposite, that the numbers are slowly decreasing.
Reported by the Swedish radio Ekot, the National Board of Health and Welfare Socialstyrelsen is now confirming that people suffering from obesity is at a greater risk than others if infected by the coronavirus. They are now considered to be a risk group and should therefor be taking extra precautions when being outdoors.
